Willie J. Laws is known as the last prophet of the Funky Texas Blues and every year his shows sell out far in advance at Skål. This isn't strictly Blues--much of it is original music with a modern funky style that's uniquely Willie's--deep Texas roots music with some funk, jazz, and groove added in.

Pianist and Hammond B3 payer Bruce Mattson is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and a former member of the Gregg Allman Band. Bruce is a gifted musician and lyricist who has worked with a wide range of artists including his own jazz/blues ensemble, New Orleans R&B quintet the Mattson Medeiros Band, funky Texas blues artist Willie J. Laws, and many others.

We are thrilled to have Willie return for his third show at Skål and are excited to welcome Bruce Mattson to our stage.
