The Juke Joint Devils are a traditional 50’s-era Chicago style quartet featuring amplified and acoustic harmonica, big-box electric guitar, upright bass and drums, infused with a heapin’ helpin’ o’ high energy West Coast Jump and swing. In addition to quintessential chestnuts of the past, the band performs self-penned songs rooted in these iconic styles, informed by the modern American experience. The band has performed at the nationally recognized Brickhouse Blues Series in Scarborough, ME, the Red Parka Blue Sunday blues series in Glen, NH, the North Atlantic Blues Festival, the Old Orchard Blues Festival, and the Maine Blues Festival, as well as countless bars, parties and other events.Bandleader Tommy O’Connell has been playing the harp since the tender age of 15, and is backed by a “who’s who” of Maine blues and roots music veterans including George Stamboules on guitar, Andy Buckland on upright bass. You’re bound to enjoy the ride!
We are thrilled to welcome back the Juke Join Devils Band, and can’t wait to hear their harmonica, bass, guitar, drums and vocals again. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to move to some good old fashioned jump blues and swing!
