Jenny Lou Drew - Singer-Songwriter, Guitarist, Producer

Jenny Lou is an award-winning Maine songwriter who credits her whisper-like timbre to her mill-worker father’s graveyard shifts at the mill. The 1970s house trailer Jenny Lou Drew spent her childhood in was on hush-mode during the daylight hours so that her father could sleep. At night, the record player blared. Self-taught sans a handful of classical guitar lessons by the late-great Michael Silvestri, Drew would whisper her songs into her father’s boombox before she learned how to write.

Since the release of of her sophomore record, Rockbiter, Jenny Lou has been collecting accolades from near and far, including a recent win at the Maine Songwriters Association annual songwriting competition for the song "Mending Fences”, a nom for Best in State in the 2019 New England Music Awards, and multiple places in the finals of the International Songwriting Competition. Her music is in regular rotation on Maine radio, and has hit the airwaves on WCLZ, FRANKFM, WBLM, WCLZ, NPR, WMBR (MIT), and WMPG.

However reclusive, Drew is no stranger to the Maine music scene. In 2007 her self-titled record with the project, A Moving Train, garnered nods in international rags Jazz Times and Keyboard Magazine and made several nominations in the Phoenix Best of Polls.

Drew still records and performs with half of the Moving Train, Shawn Paul Boissonneault is featured on drums on her records and at live shows and her husband, Scott Morgan, co-creates at their home studio in Pittston, Maine. Morgan, a master guitarist, is featured on slide and guitar on both records, is a music teacher by day, and arranges, engineers, and co-produces their music.
