We are thrilled to have Session Americana with Eleanor Buckland kicking off our summer season!

Session American and Eleanor Buckland return to the US following a five week tour of Ireland and Europe leaving audiences in 10 countries inspired and breathless from the band’s catalog of down to earth songwriting, instrument swapping and joyous energy. Sometimes referred to as a rock band in a tea cup, or a folk band in a whiskey bottle, Session Americana’s top-shelf musicians always deliver an amazing show. Their rowdy, fun, genuine style brings an ease to their timeless music, and our Vinalhaven audiences loves to gather around them in our intimate space.

Their style is unique and includes a vintage suitcase recast as a kick drum, an old Estey field organ, a harmonica case fire damaged when Jack’s bar went up in flames and graffitied by Depeche Mode roadies, plus an assortment of other instruments that get passed around between the musicians in a freewheeling modern hootenanny.
